Katy Perry, 40, and Orlando Bloom, 48, have officially ended their nearly ten-year relationship.
According to a source who spoke with Us Weekly:
“Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable. It’s not contentious at the moment. Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life.”
The Breakup Was “A Long Time Coming”
The insider added that the breakup had been building for months, stating:
“Things between them have been tense for months.”
The couple, who are parents to 4-year-old daughter Daisy, haven’t been seen together publicly since Katy began her Lifetimes tour earlier this year.

This Isn’t Katy’s First High-Profile Split
Before her relationship with Bloom, Katy was married to comedian Russell Brand.
A Recap of Her Marriage to Russell Brand:
Met during filming of Get Him to the Greek (2010)
Married four months later
Divorced in December 2011, after just over a year of marriage
A source told Us Weekly at the time:
“Katy doesn’t think Russell respects her parents’ Christian beliefs or her friends.”
They reportedly fought about where to spend the holidays, which triggered the split:
“She was like, ‘F–k you. I’m going to do my own thing.’ Russell replied, ‘Fine, f–k you too.’”
Russell’s Side of the Story
In a 2012 interview with Howard Stern, Russell said:
“I loved [Katy] so much, but it just wasn’t working.”
He felt they were on different paths, adding:
“I was really into the idea of marriage and having children.”
Katy’s Perspective
A year after the divorce, Katy opened up to Vogue in 2013:
“[Russell] is a very smart man, and I was in love with him when I married him… Let’s just say I haven’t heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31, 2011.”
Katy also claimed that Brand may have been intimidated by her success:
“At first when I met him he wanted an equal… but then they get that equal and they’re like, ‘I can’t handle the equalness.’ He didn’t like the atmosphere of me being the boss on tour.”
Where Katy Goes From Here
Although she’s understandably upset, sources say Katy is maintaining focus on her career and staying strong for her daughter.
Whether she dives into new music, TV appearances, or simply takes time for herself, one thing is clear: Katy Perry knows how to survive heartbreak — and thrive afterward.
