CPD: At Least 15 Cars Broken Into, 4 Guns Stolen in Cincinnati Last Weekend

Cincinnati police said four people have been arrested after a series of car break-ins throughout the city last weekend. Police shared Wednesday that at least 15 cars were broken into in Over-the-Rhine and Downtown Cincinnati.

Four people were arrested in connection to several of the break-ins, including a 13-year-old, a 16-year-old and two men in their twenties.

Firearms Stolen, Police Issue Warning

In addition to the 15 car thefts, at least four firearms were taken from parked cars, prompting the department to issue a warning to gun owners who are keeping guns in their car.

“A locked car is NOT a secure place to store a firearm. If you must leave a gun in your vehicle, it should be stored in a vehicle-specific gun safe, out of sight, and properly secured. Stolen guns on the street put everyone at risk,” the Cincinnati Police Department said in a post to Facebook.

Call for Public Assistance

Anyone who witnessed a break-in is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 513-352-3040.
