AI Tool Helping Investigators on Tama Cold Case

A new tool is helping investigators working to find out what happened to a missing Tama woman. Rita Papakee hasn’t been seen or heard from since January 2015, and her case has grown cold.

TRULEO: Leveraging AI in Cold Cases

Meskwaki Nation investigators have now turned to TRULEO, an artificial intelligence platform built exclusively for law enforcement.

Years of evidence, details, and artifacts related to Papakee’s disappearance were uploaded and analyzed by the platform.

TRULEO’s Impact on the Investigation

TRULEO says it produced a 27-page report that led to the department contacting the FBI, and initiating searches for any trace of Papakee in a new area.

While they didn’t find anything in that new search, TRULEO says it sent a message to Papakee’s family that investigators haven’t given up on finding her.

Ongoing Efforts and Reward Information

The Meskwaki Nation continues to offer a $100,000 reward for any information that could solve Papakee’s case.
