U.S. Marshals, Police: Man Arrested After Brief Standoff in Westmoreland County
City and state police, alongside U.S. Marshals, were on the scene Wednesday following a brief standoff in Jeannette that led to the arrest of a man who violated his parole.
Details of the Incident
Our news partners at the Trib reported that local officials were called to assist U.S. marshals shortly after 6 p.m. during a brief standoff at a home near the intersection of Penn Avenue and 13th Street.
U.S. Marshals Service Supervising Deputy Jeremy Delano told the Trib that officials had information that a man who violated parole was inside a house, saying state police SWAT officials were called after receiving a report that the man was armed.
The man was not identified but was taken into custody around 7:30 p.m.
“It’s what we expect with parole violators — they run, they hide, they fight,” Delano told the Trib.
This is a developing story.
