Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have called it quits after nine years together, following weeks of speculation that the pair were struggling to work things out.
The couple, who have been engaged since 2019, have officially called it off, according to Us Weekly.
A source said:
“Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable. It’s not contentious at the moment. Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life.”
Recent Events Leading to the Split
This comes just one day after it was revealed Orlando would be attending the wedding of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez solo, despite the lavish event being highly-anticipated by A-listers.
The couple, who share four-year-old daughter Daisy Dove Bloom, found themselves at the center of breakup rumors after a June 9 People article reported that the pair were struggling to navigate tension in their relationship following the failure of Katy’s album.
Album Flop: The album, titled Lifetimes, flopped on the Billboard charts and struggled to sell tickets for its world tour.
Postponed Wedding: Katy and Orlando were initially set to tie the knot in 2022 following the birth of their daughter but postponed it, citing Covid-19 as the reason.
Missing Ring: Katy was also seen without her engagement ring while out and about during her tour stop in Australia, fueling speculation even more.
Home for Rent: She also quietly put her $30 million Montecito home up for rent. The pair had planned on raising their family in the beachside mansion, according to the Daily Mail.
Then, just days later, a separate source told People that the Hollywood power couple was “pretty much over” despite them planning their wedding for later this year.
Orlando Bloom Spotted with Daughter Daisy Before News Broke
Orlando Bloom was spotted enjoying a quiet Sunday in Perth with his 4-year-old daughter Daisy prior to the news.
Casual Outing: Bloom, 48, appeared relaxed as he gave Daisy a ride on his shoulders during a stroll through the city.
Sweet Moment: The youngster clutched a pair of flower-shaped balloons while smiling alongside her dad.
Low-Key Style: The Lord of the Rings star kept it casual in a graphic T-shirt, black pants, and a black baseball cap as they wandered the streets together.
The actor’s visit coincided with Perry’s performance at Perth’s RAC Arena later that night.
Bloom’s outing with Daisy came on the heels of the news suggesting early turbulence in his relationship with Perry.
