Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom’s Relationship Reportedly ‘Done’ Amid Busy Schedules
Katy Perry reportedly confided in friends earlier this year that her nine-year relationship with Orlando Bloom was “done”. According to a source close to the couple, the singer, 40, privately admitted in January that her relationship with the actor, 48, had broken down.
The pair, who began dating in 2016 and got engaged in 2019, share a four-year-old daughter, Daisy.
“Katy confided in friends at the start of the year that their relationship was as good as done,” the insider revealed.
Signs of Strain and Separate Paths
“They decided to hold off on announcing anything in case things improved between them, because they are desperate to stay together for the sake of their daughter.”
Despite their shared commitment to family life, the couple’s increasingly busy careers have reportedly put pressure on their relationship, and she has been allegedly taken off her engagement ring.
Perry is currently touring Australia on her Lifetimes Tour, while Bloom is filming Bucking Fastard in Dublin, leaving them with little time together in recent months.
“She knew that taking off her engagement ring would send a clear message,” the source told The Sun, hinting that Perry is emotionally preparing for the end.
“It’s been a hard year so far. They wanted to wait until the tour is over before they made their split official, although Katy has grown tired of the situation.”
Bloom is expected to attend Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s wedding in Italy this week without Perry, who will remain in Australia as she’s currently on tour.
Public Indications and Personal History
During a recent performance in Sydney, the Firework singer appeared to reference her emotional state while introducing her 2008 ballad I’m Still Breathing.
After being handed a pack of Tim Tams, a biscuit brand, by a fan, she said: “This song is about a break-up, and this Tim Tam saved me. Thank you.”
The couple’s last public appearance was at the Vanity Fair Oscars party in March.
They also didn’t post Valentine’s Day tributes to each other this year, which marked the sixth anniversary of their engagement.
Katy was previously married to comedian Russell Brand, with their brief marriage lasting from 2010 to 2012.
Bloom also shares a 14-year-old son, Flynn, with his ex-wife, model Miranda Kerr.
