Mark Manning Alleges Jordon Hudson Played Role in A.J. Ferrari’s North Carolina Admissions DenialNorth Carolina Coach Rob Koll Was ‘Super Disappointed’ in Decision

During an appearance on Hurrdat Sports last week, Nebraska wrestling head coach Mark Manning alleged that North Carolina football head coach Bill Belichick‘s girlfriend played a role in making sure Cal State Bakersfield transfer A.J. Ferrari could not get admitted into the university.

Ferrari, who is one of the best wrestlers in the entire country, started his career at Oklahoma State and won a National Championship as a freshman. He however was dismissed by the program following a sexual assault investigation. The charges were dropped in 2023, allowing Ferrari to continue his career at CSU Bakersfield.

“Rob Koll … the North Carolina coach who I’ve known for 35 years, and a great friend of mine, called me up when they didn’t let A.J. into North Carolina,” Manning said. “A.J. was already there training some, and they didn’t let him in admissions wise for various reasons, and Bill Belichick’s girlfriend had something to do with that.”

The hosts of the podcast chuckled, but revealed that there were actually legs to the statement.

North Carolina Coach Rob Koll Was ‘Super Disappointed’ in Decision

“[I’m] very serious,” Manning said. “[Hudson was] one of the elements along with the men’s basketball player that had [an alleged] sexual assault the week before, and just a lot of drama, I think, for that chancellor.”

“Rob was like super disappointed. He spent a lot of time getting A.J. there, but they weren’t going to let him into school. So he called me up and said, ‘Hey, Mark, you’ve got a great team and you should get A.J. Ferrari.’ And I would have never thought about that until Rob, who’s my friend and a guy I have a lot of respect for, he convinced me and then off we went. And we got it done and he’s here and we’re trying to manage him each and every day.”

This is just the latest saga at the university to involve Hudson, who became the talk of the sports world following an awkward “CBS Sunday Morning” interview back in April. Pablo Torres of “Pablo Torres Finds Out” then alleged that Hudson had been banned from the facility all together, but North Carolina released a statement claiming that that information was false.

“While Jordon Hudson is not an employee at the University or Carolina Athletics, she is welcome to the Carolina Football facilities.”

Whether Hudson was the reason behind Ferrari going to Nebraska is true or not, the Cornhuskers ended up the beneficiary of the situation. The All-American now heads to a Cornhusker program that boasts 13 NCAA individual champions and 144 All-Americans.
