Sky F1 pit-lane reporter Ted Kravitz has announced that he will publish his first book later in the 2025 Formula 1 season, with a release date set for September 11 — the same day as fellow Sky F1 presenter Simon Lazenby’s debut book.
Kravitz’s F1 Legacy and Upcoming Book
Ted Kravitz has been a key figure in Formula 1 broadcasting for over two decades, beginning as a production team member before becoming ITV’s pit-lane reporter in 2002.
He joined the BBC’s F1 coverage in 2009, and transitioned to the Sky F1 team at its 2012 launch.
2025 marks his 14th season with Sky, where he remains a fan favorite thanks to his long-running post-session feature, Ted’s Notebook.
F1 Insider: Notes from the Pit Lane
Ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring, Kravitz shared news of his book on social media:
“Excited to let you know F1 Insider: Notes from the Pit Lane is coming out on 11th September. It’s packed full of the greatest stories from Formula 1 over the last 30 years; the inside track on this weird and wonderful world; the champions, the character and controversies.”
“So if you’re a new fan of the sport, or you’ve watched every grand prix since Murray Walker was in short trousers, this book will let you in on the stories behind the stories.”
Simon Lazenby’s Book: Pressure
Kravitz’s announcement comes shortly after Simon Lazenby, Sky F1’s lead presenter, revealed that he too would be releasing a book on the same date — September 11, 2025.
From Rugby to Formula 1
Lazenby, who joined the Sky F1 team at its 2012 debut after previously covering rugby union, announced that his book, titled Pressure, will focus on the unsung heroes of the F1 paddock.
“Surprisingly, I’ve managed to write a book. It took a long time because I had to learn to write first!”
“Pressure is all about the people in F1 who I have met along the way — the crew of the medical car, mechanics, chefs, trainers, photographers, illustrators, engineers, commentators, CEOs and drivers.”
“Many of them are the unsung heroes who get a chance to tell their stories.”
